About Eric Mansfield

Family:
Eric and his wife Donna have two children, Erica and Thomas

Education/Work Experience:
Dr. Mansfield attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. on a ROTC scholarship. He  deferred his Army service to attend Morehouse School of Medicine.  He then relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend Surgical and Otolaryngology Residency at Tulane University School of Medicine.  Upon completion of training, Eric relocated to Ft. Bragg, NC.  He was assigned to Womack Army Medical Center and acted as the Battalion Medical Officer for the 2-505 Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne Division.  Eric also served as the Chief of Otolaryngology Services at Womack Army Medical Center from 1998-2001.  During this time Eric deployed to Kosovo with the 2/505 PIR. After separating from the military, Eric stayed in Fayetteville, where he opened Cape Fear Otolaryngology, an Ear, Nose and Throat practice.


Community Involvement:
Member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery;  Member of the National Medical Association; Member of the Old North State Medical Society; Member of the Board of Trustees – Methodist University (2006-present); Board Member – Fayetteville Museum of Art (2007-2008); Foundation Board Member – Fayetteville State University (2005-2008); Board Member – Fayetteville Arts Council (2005-2008); Board Member – Cape Fear Regional Bureau for Community Action, Inc. (2007-2009); Founder, Board President – Father’s Foundation (2005-2009); Associate Minister, Lewis Chapel Baptist Church - Minister to Young Adults; Original Donor to the EE Smith Giving Circle; Primary Sponsor of the Partnership for Children's Evening with the Stars
